A Unique Workshop Series “Education in the Arts” for Early Childhood Educators 

Education in the arts doesn’t happen from exploration alone. In this series, teachers will learn the conceptual foundations that provide meaningful early learning experiences in art and music and be inspired to support children’s creative development.

Musical Childhood ~ Investigation and Inquiry into Music Education for the Non-Musician
Tuesday, November 14th 2017 | 9:30am -2:30pm | $90.00 with lunch provided

This is an opportunity to learn what really comprises an excellent music education curriculum for young children that meets the CT Early Learning and Development Standards as well as national standards in music.  Participants will learn musical concepts that form the basis for early childhood music learning as well as provide music learning experiences that utilize puppets, books, instruments, and a wide variety of recorded music.  Taught by a music specialist.   Workshop fee includes a book and CD.


Investigations and Inquiry into Two-Dimensional Art
Tuesday, January 9th 2018 9:30am -2:30pm | $90.00 with lunch provided  (snow date is  Tuesday, January 23rd)

This workshop focuses on appropriate materials, approaches, and strategies for teaching children to draw and paint.  An emphasis will be placed on tools and techniques that result in success and meet CT Early Learning and Development Standards as well as national standards in visual arts.  This is a hands-on workshop taught in our art studio by an art specialist. 


Investigations and Inquiry into Three-Dimensional Art
Tuesday, March 6th 2018 | 9:30am - 2:30pm | $90.00 with lunch provided (snow date is Tuesday March 13th)

This workshop focuses on materials, approaches, and techniques for teaching children to work with clay, wire, found and natural materials, as well as fabric.  A hands-on workshop taught in our art studio by an art specialist that will engage participants in process and ensure successful outcomes, based on national standards in the visual arts.
