Museum Frequently Asked Questions


Is the Museum open for self-exploration?
Yes! We welcome self-guided exploration on Mondays from 12:30-4:30 PM and Thursdays from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. Guests may also visit on other weekdays, we recommend calling ahead to confirm availability.

Do you still host Birthday Parties?
Absolutely! Our popular birthday parties include educator-led activities, private use of our café space, self-guided museum play, and seasonal access to our Outdoor Learning Park. Best of all, your group gets the museum to yourselves!

Where can I park?
Parking is available in our lot off Upson Street behind the museum. You can also use street parking on Pleasant Street or the nearby church parking lot. All guests enter through the front door, just ring the buzzer!

Is there still a café to order food?
While our café space is open for use, we do not currently sell food. Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks to enjoy during your visit.

Do you have gift certificates or memberships? 
We do not offer memberships at this time, but gift certificates are available and can be used for any program or event.

Can we visit by just walking in?
Yes! Walk-ins are welcome. For safety, entry is controlled through the front door, just ring the buzzer and we’ll let you in.

What are your hours? 
Our general hours are 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Special “Meet Up” hours with themed workshops happen Mondays from 12:30-4:30 PM and Thursdays from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. Please call ahead to confirm hours for specific dates or events.

What ages are appropriate for the museum?
Our exhibits and activities are ideal for children ages 1 to 8, with special programming for toddlers under 3 and occasional events for kids up to age 10.

How much is admission?
Admission is $10 per person for anyone over age 1. Some events may have discounted rates thanks to community grants.

Are you an accessible facility?
Yes! We are committed to accessibility. Our building includes an elevator and we offer noise-cancelling headphones upon request to support sensory-friendly visits.
